Approximately 5000 people die each year in Ireland from sudden cardiac death. Survival rates have increased from 1 to 6% in recent years. Some of the increase can be contributed to early recognition of cardiac arrest, CPR and the use of a Defibrillator.
The chain of survival will give a patient (family member or friend) the best chance of survival if they suffer a cardiac arrest. Chance of survival reduced 7-10% per minute that a patient is not being treated. This course will give you the skills need to give the patient the best chance of survival.
Our new 'Student CPR' course brings Life Saving Skills to students. This is very much a practical course which keeps students attention throughout. The course uses Irish Heart Foundation accredited content. We hope that this 2 hour course will fit with the school time table and that your school will its bit to ensure that every student is given lifesaving skills which one day may be used to save another.
